High Frequency Rail (HFR) – Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEOI)

HFR – RFEOI Process

On March 10, 2022 the Government of Canada launched the RFEOI, seeking views from industry on the HFR project. On April 6, 2022, RFEOI virtual Information Sessions were held to provide information to industry on the RFEOI in order to support Industry in providing a response to help inform the development of the HFR project and its procurement approach. Responses to the RFEOI were requested by May 31, 2022. Over 50 industry participants submitted expressions of interest, and Canada is reviewing these responses and continues to gather information to inform next steps in the procurement.

The video presentation from the Information Session can be found below.

Background Materials

What is HFR?

High Frequency Rail (HFR) is world-class transportation infrastructure that puts people first, and redefines the way we live, work and play. With over 1,000 KM of new passenger rail infrastructure between major city-centres including Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal and Québec City, HFR will deliver new trains, tracks, civil infrastructure, structures and rail systems to service Canada’s growing population.

How do I get involved?

We are committed to seeking insights from and listening to the perspectives of municipalities, Indigenous peoples and those who are interested or potentially affected by the establishment of HFR. As the project progresses, you can get involved by viewing important documents and participating in online engagement activities and events.
